Cleaning for Heights bungalows, new townhouses and the shops on 19th Street
The Heights mixes century-old bungalows with original pine floors, tall new townhouses on narrow lots, and a busy strip of restaurants and shops. Each needs a slightly different plan.

The Houston Heights was laid out in the 1890s as its own town and joined Houston in 1918, and many of its streets still have the raised wood-frame bungalows and Victorians from those years. Old houses clean differently. Original heart-pine and oak floors want a damp mop with a wood-safe cleaner, never a soaking. Transom windows, picture rails and deep window sills collect dust that a quick visit misses. Pier-and-beam houses let in more dust and pollen than a slab house does, so regular visits do more work here than the square footage suggests.
Alongside them stand the three-story townhouses built over the past twenty years, where the work is mostly stairs: three flights of carpet or hardwood, a kitchen on the second floor, and a rooftop deck that collects pollen and leaves from the live oaks. We plan crew time for the stairs, bring a lightweight vacuum, and treat the deck as an optional add-on.
On the commercial side we clean small offices, boutiques and restaurants around 19th Street, Yale Street, White Oak and the converted spaces along the bayou trails. Restaurants are cleaned after close; shops before they open.

The Heights questions
Do you clean original hardwood floors?
Yes, with a barely damp mop and a cleaner made for finished wood. We never flood an old floor or use steam on it.
Can you clean a three-story townhouse in one visit?
Yes. We plan extra time for the stairs and quote it from the number of floors, not just the square footage.
Do you clean garage apartments?
Yes, as their own small home or added to the main house visit.
Do you clean restaurants in the Heights?
Yes, after close, front and back of house. Hood duct cleaning goes to a certified hood contractor.
